Afghanistan — Americans are ready to get troops out, according to a CBS/New York Times poll. The survey found that more than two-thirds of those polled — 69 percent — thought that the United States should not be at war in Afghanistan.

Nuclear power — Gallup finds that 57% of Americans favor using nuclear energy as a source for electricity, and, thankfully, the same percentage thinks it is safe. 

EconomyEconomic confidence is now by one point at the highest weekly level Gallup has recorded since it started daily tracking of confidence in January 2008.

Presidential politics — If the election were held today, a McClatchy-Marist Poll finds it Obama 46%, Romney 44%. A Suffolk University Poll finds it Obama 47%, Romney 37%.

Health care — The Pew Research Center pulls together several recent polls pertaining to the Affordable Care Act. Conclusion: They all pretty much say that Americans are divided on the benefits.
