N.C. doesn’t have high hopes for Obamacare

The problems with the healthcare.gov website don’t seem to have affected North Carolina registered voters’ opinions about the Affordable Care Act. Most of those polled in the latest Elon University Poll  don’t like it.

Fifty-four percent said they think it will make things worse; 30.5% said it will make things better, and 11.5% think it won’t make much difference. In our September poll, 50% said it will make things worse, and 30% said it will improve things.

Digging into the numbers:

Politics – 58% of Democrats think it will healthcare in the state vs. 24% of Independents and 5% of Republicans felt.

Gender – Women support it by 34% vs. men at 27%.

Race – 55% of African Americans think Obamacare will improve health care vs. 23% of whites.
